Printing on Post-it notes

So I was skimming through Pinterest as usual, I was looking up ways to display my make-up work in my classroom which I will have a post on that soon. So back to the story... as I was going through all the pins for make-up work. I found this pin on how to print on post-it notes. I thought this was an amazing idea for interactive notebooks. Lesson Planner

ERIN CONDREN LESSON PLANNER = LIFE SAVER 

So I just bought my Erin Condren planner to start out the school year. I am super excited to receive this planner.  I even was able to customize it which is totally awesome! It is going to accumulate my life inside of it. I have put a link of their video below. You should watch it!

Classroom Rules

Classroom Rules! 

Every year I  have all my students come up with their own rules for the classroom. I know you thinking OH NO! but it works out to my advantage. 

1.) I explain to them I am going to let them come up with the classroom rules and remind them to keep it appropriate. 

2.) Pass out post-it-notes to allow them to write their rule on. 

3.) After they are done writing their rules I allow share my three rules first. I explain to them that I want them to post their rule where it fits. Example: No food or drinks in the classroom----> Classroom Environment. 

The Students notice that even though I have three rules there are tons of stipulations to each rule. :)

Classroom Expectations

I wanted to share with you a copy of my classroom expectations (click the link below). This will go into the students composition books on the front page. I will also check to make sure that a parent has seen their composition book by having them sign this page as well. This will help notify parent(s)/guardian(s) about what is to be expected inside my classroom. It will also let them see this interactive notebook that they should be bringing home with them for study material. 

How to use the interactive page:

Copy paper one to one sided (I love using colored paper). Cut paper in half. Glue on non-text side in interactive notebooks. 

 I could use some feedback on any possible changes I should make on my classroom expectations so please comment below with any changes I should make. :)

Every time I go to the store I am overwhelmed with how many composition books there are to choose from. I prefer my students get a GRAPH Composition book. This will help with some foldables for graphing.

Officially my first post on my blog.

MY FIRST POST! 

HELLO FELLOW MATH TEACHERS! 

I have always wanted to start a blog as I started my teaching career, reading other really influenced me to start my own so here it is. I am currently going into my third year of teacher. I absolutely love being a mathematics educator. I am really excited  to start the 2014-2015 school year. 

 I am currently working on my Masters in Educational Leadership. It's so exciting and really interesting to hear about different school district and how they are incorporating RTI, PLCs and different leadership committees. So you may here me talk about some leadership advice or stories. 

I LOVE interactive notebooks. It was love at first sight at the NCTM Regional Conference in Lexington, KY. I went to a workshop on interactive notebooks and from there the love only grew. I will be sharing some ideas throughout my school year of neat interactive notebook pages that I have created. I will be putting step-by-step pages for y'all on this page. 

My goal of this blog is to help other educators that want to do a interactive notebook get the running start they need to be successful at it.
